The Addison City Council has begun the approval process to reconstruct and improve a taxilane. The project is estimated to cost $2.21 million and approximately 90% will be funded by grants.
The expansion of Taxilane Victor will enable the airport to handle aircraft with wingspans up to 118 feet. The project will include widening the taxilane to 50 feet, improving drainage, re-grading safety areas and clearing object-free areas.
The aviation division of the Texas Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration are offering the city grants to cover most of the construction costs.
City officials are also selecting a new engineering consultant for the project. Mayor Todd Meier has asked for 2 citizen volunteers to serve on the Addison Airport Master Plan Committee.
