On Tuesday, June 18, Million Air invited the Addison City Council, staff from the Addison Airport (ADS) and the Addison Fire Department, and the ADS-based U.S. Customs, and FAA Tower teams to lunch to help celebrate its 40th anniversary. Mayor Bruce Arfsten, Mayor Pro Tempore Darren Gardner, Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Nancy Craig, and Council Members Dan Liscio and Marlin Willesen were joined by former Addison Mayor Joe Chow to congratulate this Addison-based company on its milestone achievement. The Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce commemorated the occasion with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Million Air was founded at Addison Airport in 1984 by the Mary Kay Cosmetics family as a single-site FBO. The company’s original goal was to deliver outstanding service in a luxury FBO to Mary Kay customers and sales representatives at the company’s hometown airport. Four decades later, the Million Air system is operated throughout the US, Canada, and the Caribbean, and is comprised of 1,000 employees and more than 800 aircraft within the leasehold of its facilities.
Congratulations to Million Air on its achievements over the past forty years. Addison looks forward to celebrating many more accomplishments as this industry leader continues to grow at ADS.
