At its July 14 meeting, the City Council received its third update on the Addison Airport Master Plan, a long-range planning effort that will guide the airport's maintenance, development, and operations over the next 20 years.
As part of the ongoing public engagement process, Addison Airport hosted a community meeting on Monday, July 13 followed by meetings with the Project Steering Committee on Tuesday before presenting the latest update to the City Council that evening. Since the project began, nearly 400 residents have participated in community surveys, helping shape the draft recommendations.
The update included draft airport layout recommendations, progress on the Wheels Up, Noise Down voluntary noise program, updated aircraft noise exposure contours, and preliminary findings from the Texas Department of Transportation's Airport Economic Impact Study, which estimates Addison Airport supports 2,553 jobs and generates $594 million in annual economic output, a 27.2 percent increase since 2018. The Airport Master Plan remains on schedule, with final recommendations, additional public engagement opportunities, and project completion anticipated by December 2026.
